It took almost two hours for the proclamation of the results of the Presidential, Legislative and Provincial Elections of October 9, 2024 by the CC at the Joaquim Chissano conference center in Maputo.
The ruling was read by the Presiding Judge of the Constitutional Council, Prof. Lúcia Ribeiro, who announced the winners of the presidencies as Daniel Chapo for Frelimo with 65.5% and Venâncio Mondlane with 24%.
Ossufo Momade with 6% and Lutero Simango with 4%. Chapo had 70% of the votes. In the Assembly of the Republic, the Constitutional Council took 24 seats from Frelimo and distributed them to the opposition. Frelimo received a majority of 171 deputies, PODEMOS with 43, RENAMO with 28 and MDM with 8 deputies.
After the results were announced, Lúcia Ribeiro activated “Turbo8”, plunging the country into chaos never seen before, far from a democratic rule of law and social justice.
After the announcement of the victory of Frelimo and its candidate, the people were quick to respond.
