Paula Monjane stands as one of the most prominent and transformative figures in the defense of democracy, civic space, and human rights in Mozambique. A committed feminist, seasoned activist, and respected thought leader, Paula embodies more than 25 years of frontline engagement in governance, social justice, and civic accountability.
She currently serves as Director of the Women’s Voice and Leadership (WVL-Aliadas) program, and is the former Executive Director of the Mozambique Civil Society Learning Centre (CESC). Over the years, her leadership has proven pivotal in mobilizing civil society, resisting restrictive legislation, and safeguarding the right to organize, protest, and speak out.
