During the National Summit of Human Rights Defenders, organized by the Mozambique Human Rights Defenders Network (RMDDH) on 9 December 2025 in Maputo, Dr. Joseph Bikanda, representative of African Defenders and DefendDefenders, emphasized the importance of solidarity and regional coordination in protecting human rights defenders.
Held under the theme “Resilience in Times of Adversity: Celebrating Human Rights Defenders,” the Summit reaffirmed the need for structured collective action at national, regional, and continental levels.
