AMMC Wins 1st Place for Best SME with a Manufactured Product at FACIM 2026 Award granted by the Ministry of Economy, through APIEX, IP, honours the collective work of all AMMC members Maputo/Pemba, September 5, 2026 — The Mozambican Women in Coffee Alliance (AMMC) was honoured with the Diploma of Honour for 1st Place in the “Best SME with a Manufactured Product” Category, as part of the 61st Edition of the Maputo International Fair (FACIM 2026). The award was granted by the Ministry of Economy, through the Agency for the Promotion of Investment and Exports (APIEX, IP). FACIM 2026 is taking place from 31 August to 6 September 2026, in Ricatla, Marracuene District, Maputo Province, under the theme “Digital and Energy Transformation Towards a Sustainable Economy”.
The Diploma of Honour was signed by the Minister of Economy, Basílio Zefanias Muhate, and the DirectorGeneral of APIEX, IP, Luís José Machava. The award recognises the quality and innovative character of AMMC’s products, the result of the collective effort of all its members — women producers, processors and entrepreneurs from various regions — who, with dedication and knowledge, add value to Mozambican coffee and turn it into quality products with identity and origin.
For AMMC, this achievement is, above all, a recognition of the work of all the women who make up the Alliance. By adding value to local coffee, the organisation promotes families’ self-sufficiency, the preservation of traditional species and knowledge, and reduced pressure on natural resources, contributing to a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable economy (circular economy in coffee) — fully aligned with the theme of FACIM 2026. “This award belongs to every woman who grows, harvests and believes. It proves that Mozambican talent, shaped by women’s hands, holds a prominent place in the country and in the world.”
