Ongwediva, Namibia on 19th July the Miss Namibia stage sparkled with cultural pride and fashion-forward finesse this weekend, as renowned Namibian entertainer and creative powerhouse, ToucyT, also known as The Himba Queen, presented a groundbreaking swimwear collection under her fashion label, Tinaa & ToucyT Couture.

In a breathtaking display of unity in diversity, ten contestants from various ethnic backgrounds donned swimwear pieces designed by ToucyT, each representing the heart of the Namibian identity. The collection’s theme, “One Namibia, One Nation,” honored not only Namibia’s diverse tribes but also the legacy of her late mother, Tinaa, to whom the brand pays tribute.
“This was more than fashion,” ToucyT shared. “It was a celebration of heritage, womanhood, and national pride.”
The swimwear—marking the second outfit of the night—infused iconic elements such as the Namibian flag, the Miss Namibia logo colors, and the copper tones that ToucyT herself was instrumental in redesigning in 2022. She reminisced about her bold proposal that year to feature only Miss Namibia logo and national flag color evening gowns, a move that has since become symbolic on the national pageant runway.
But her contributions go far beyond the fashion world. ToucyT is a quadruple threat: an executive producer, actress, fashion designer, and cultural ambassador. She’s also the founder of Toucy Image Creation, Namibia’s first talent casting agency, birthed in May 2002 with the mission to discover, train, and promote Namibian talent. Just a year later, she brought South African actor and director Akin Omotoso of the popular South African Soapy Generations, to Namibia to train local actors—setting the stage for a national wave of creative empowerment.

ToucyT is surely an Icon in Media, Fashion, Music, and Diplomacy her footprint spans the globe —from studying in New York where she earned her degree in Digital Media & Film Production. To her role in iconic films such as Get Rich or Die Tryin’, Freedomland, and Namibia’s own Hungira (for which she won the 2022 Peter J. Rondione Screenwriting Memorial Award). She is a three-times scriptwriter award winner of short films: Tjiraa, Tji-Tji the Himba Girl and Kgola respectively.
In fashion, she has organized Miss Namibia 2022 which only featured local designers, Miss NYC in Rundu 2011, was a judge for Miss Tourism in 2008 and a model many moons back. ToucyT debuted her fashion line at the Katutura Fashion Week last year titled “The Matriarch” and her collection was featured in a magazine in Brazil as one of the best collection. In music, she recorded singles in the U.S. with then Ruff Ryders engineer Gregory L, and was appointed to help set up a free music studio for Namibian artists alongside Gaza by ministry of trade. She also wrote and produced her talk show song of The ToucyT Show.

As a Universal Peace Ambassador and a radio trailblazer on SARFM (NYC) and UN Africa Radio, her impact goes far beyond borders where she moderate continental panels where she was the Chief Moderator in Ghana in 2025 at the Accelerating Africa Conference at the Dr. Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. She anchors TV shows in Ghana at the Diaspora TV Network and has professional ties with Joy TV in Ghana too —bridging cultures and uniting platforms in countries like Ghana, USA, UK, Angola, Nigeria, and beyond.
She is a testimony to her tireless mission: to elevate Namibia’s creative industries on the global stage. “We’re not just making noise,” she says. “We’re making history in silence.” For more inspiration follow, like and subscribe to her social media platforms Toucy Tjijombo and her talk show The ToucyT Show.
